Experiences of Postpartum Depression in Men: A Qualitative Meta-synthesis

Purpose: This study aimed to comprehensively review the experiences of postpartum depression in men.Methods: A qualitative meta-synthesis suggested by Noblit and Hare was conducted this study. Three studies were chosen synthesized describe men's depression. Results: Four themes emerged as a result synthesizing: “Frustration stemming from excessive responsibility father”, “Life mine being tied child-rearing”, “Suppression emotions due gender role stereotypes”, “Communication interruption with wife marital conflict”. Conclusion: The results provided deeper understanding men, can help establish prevention program arrang social support for men.
